Poetic Excellence of Mahakavi Kaalidoss - a Nector Drop

का त्वं बाले ? कान्चनमाला
कस्या: पुत्री ? कनकलताया: |
हस्ते किम ते? ताली पत्रं
का वा रे खा? क - ख - ग - घ ||

பொருள்:

போஜ ராஜா ஒரு சமயம், க - வரிசையை (ka-क, kha-ख, ga-ग, gha-घ) மட்டும் கூறி , அதை வைத்து ஒரு பாடலை எழுதச் சொன்னார். சபையில் இருந்த ஒருகவிஞராலும் எழுத முடியவில்லை. இதை வைத்து என்ன, எப்படி எழுதுவதுஎன்று குழம்பிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். மகாகவி காளிதாசர் கீழே உள்ள சாராம்சத்தில்உடனே ஒரு பாடலை எழுதிக் கொடுத்துவிட்டார்:
பாடல்:
குழந்தாய், உன் பெயர் என்ன? காஞ்சனமாலா.
யாருடைய பெண் ? கானகலதாவின்.
கையில் என்ன ? பனையோலை.
என்ன எழுதி இருக்கு? (ka-क, kha-ख, ga-ग, gha-घ)

Meaning:

One time, The King Bhoja directed his assembly of expert poets to compose a poem which completes with the sequence of letters ka-क, kha-ख, ga-ग, gha-घ. (Note: Such sequence of letters are common in all Indian Languages' structure and are basic as part of Language Learning system.) All the experts were perplexed and in an complex environment of thinking to complete the given work. No one was able to finish that. One of his great poet, Kaalidoss took some time and simply submitted the completed poem as below:
Poem:
Hey Child! What is your name? Kaanchanamaalaa.
Daughtor of whom? Kanakalatha
What is in your hand? Palm leaf
What has written in that? ka-क, kha-ख, ga-ग, gha-घ
